The Somewhat Rough Starting Point

The Somewhat Rough Starting Point

Brooklyn Exterior Rooftop Stucco Application

Paint, primer and surfaces like stucco are not only about appearance, but also address care and maintenance of underlying materials. Here one conscientious property manager in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn called us to finish an incomplete stucco job on a rooftop above, below and between these likely HVAC louvered doors. It looks more like a working space than a relaxing terrace, so while it might only be seen by birds and service technicians, they wanted it finished and done right – for both aesthetics and a protective barrier against the elements.

We hauled up scaffolding, ladders and all the gear and supplies to clean the surface and apply a bonding agent so new stucco would strongly adhere to the surface. Matching the stucco was the next order of business, and once applied, the entire space was painted in a medium, neutral gray. Our professional crew diligently focused on the tasks at hand and not on the somewhat delightful view and opportunity to work outside under Big Apple blue skies and sunshine.

Exterior House Painter NYC

When this homeowner called us she was looking to refresh the exterior of the home for the new renters. The house hadn't had it's stucco exterior painted in over 12 years and it was started to show. The bottom picture shows before we got started. You can see the failing paint around all the windows, the accumulation of dirt is also visible. Our first step was to rent a boom lift that would allow us to reach all corners of this house. We spent the first day power washing the entire stucco exterior. The next day was devoted to more preparation as we scraped the failing paint, plastered any holes/cracks and caulked around all windows. Once was that was completed we masked off the areas that were not to be painted. We then used professional spray machines to paint the exterior stucco walls. After spraying the stucco was completed we hand painted all window frames and shutters. The client picked a boldly beautiful red to contrast the white house. The client was in awe when she saw the finished project. It looks like an entirely new exterior to her house. Very grateful to be a part of this exterior transformation.
