Brooklyn Interior Residential Painting

Electricians are not painters, and we at Paintworks don’t wire electrical things. They do the wiring. We do the painting. So when a sharp Bedford-Stuyvesant resident had new lights installed, the electrician left some holes crudely patched and not painted. Right away we noted the uneven walls with rough patches and went to work. Of course, we removed or added as necessary the appropriate plaster to totally camouflage the holes. Then we sanded the walls for a sleek, uniform vertical surface.

We are able to computer match colors, and that’s how we achieved painting with the identical color on the walls. For good measure, we painted the trim as well with a nice, even finish. With this tall bay window, gorgeous wood flooring and period molding, this Brooklyn townhouse is once again a very inviting space to call home. The whole Bed-Stuy neighborhood has more than 8,000 pre-1900 structures which beckon city folks with touches of nostalgia and historical architecture. This client is very happy with the home’s refreshed, interior flair.

SoHo Retail Repair and Painting

At the age of 24, Giuseppe Marenzi was inspired by his military experience and knowledge of raincoats, geography and climate to develop a high quality functional coat. With his wife, Alessandra Diana, he started a little company whose name Herno has evolved into the hallmark of Italian luxury outerwear around the world.

When the Herno flagship store in SoHo encountered water damage, Paintworks & Decorating was called in to repair and paint walls and restore its glamorous interior. We are as passionate about superior painting quality as Herno is about its superior jacket quality. We used a stain-killing primer and painted overnight so retail hours would not be disrupted, cautiously covering and protecting the entire space. We worked carefully and intensively, departing soon after sunrise, and Herno was back in business for its 11 a.m. opening.

Transforming Walls with Holes to Smooth Sleek Surfaces

While no one seems sure how the Lincoln Square neighborhood in Manhattan got its name, one family was very sure about wanting their condo walls refreshed before moving in. They called us at Paintworks to repair, plaster, sand and smooth out copious holes in the walls left by the previous owner. We get excited about these kinds of things because of the dramatic improvement that results after spackling, drying, sanding, inspecting and repeat as necessary to achieve a smooth surface ready for professional painting. Blending a Harbor Gray 50/50 with white created a sophisticated soft pewter as the perfect accent to white trim. Ceiling edge molding that extends down several inches always expands the perception of space above, and deeper sea gull wing gray Roman shades embrace gray being the new black in interior charisma.
