Painting Industrial Warehouses in Long Island City

The industrial scene was already burgeoning in Long Island City well before the announcement of the new Amazon headquarters. With quick access to Manhattan, Bronx, and Queens, Long Island City is an ideal place to have an industrial or commercial facility.

Paintworks and Decorating has painted many warehouses in L.I.C. We had an especially good time helping to refresh this warehouse used by a telecommunications company. The warehouse was looking grungey as the walls were dirty with years of work and very little cleaning. There was failing paint everywhere. Using multiple high powered spray machines and scissor lifts we were able to renew the warehouse with fresh paint very quickly.

Painting Industrial Facilities In Long Island City

Being based in Long Island City gives us a great opportunity to help other businesses in the bustling industrial area. This local company was moving to a new facility that desperately needed refreshing and a new identity. The client chose their brands colors to adorn the doors, trim, and walls. The exterior roll-up garage doors were covered in rust and failing coatings. We used a industrial strength wire brush to grind off the failings coatings then painted with UV resistant paint to help protect the doors longer. With our state of the art fancy-schmancy spray machine, the T-9, we were able to paint this facility in efficient fashion.

Liberty National Golf Performance Center Painter.jpg

Earlier this year we had the amazing opportunity to paint the performance center at the prestigious Liberty National Golf course. A gorgeous course, Liberty National hosted the 2017 President's Cup. The performance center is a learning facility that houses top of the line technology to helps golfers improve their swing.

The center originally had idea paint on the walls. Idea paint allows for dry erase writing which at one point was very useful for the center but as they moved to more computer based tracking it became time to repaint the walls. The first step was to sand off the old idea paint so the new coats of paint would bond properly to the wall. Once that was done, we caulked any gaps, plastered any damage caused by wild golf balls and then primed the walls and ceilings. Liberty National chose 2 beautiful gray colors with a white stripe in the middle. We painted the lower half of the wall with Benjamin Moore Scuff X to help withstand scuff marks and stray golf balls. After we painted the ceilings white and the walls gray we used a self leveling laser to tape off the lines for the middle white stripe. We wanted a strong white to give contrast to the room so we used Benjamin Moore Aura Matte. We love how the colors turned out. The finished product looks very clean and professional. It was a fun project as well. Painting 20 foot high ceilings was quite the challenge!
