Accent Wall and Bookcase Painting

The Upper West Side is known for its energy, cultural attractions and wonderful outdoor spaces. It was the backdrop for the movie “You’ve Got Mail” and the television series “Seinfeld.” People of all ages from all over the world call it home. We went to one of the homes recently to paint an accent wall, then carry the theme to the back wall of the corner bookcases. When the floors and adjacent spaces were safety protected, our team cleaned, sanded, primed and painted everything.

 The Benjamin Moore paint color is named Bonne Nuit, which is French for “good night.” We think it could be dubbed Bonne à Tout Moment meaning “good anytime.” The accent wall is spacious and framed with gorgeous trim. You do not need experience painting back walls between bookcase shelves to figure out that it’s a tricky project. For us, it’s just all in a day’s work, and the contrast between the walls, trim and shelving is striking and chic with a generous infusion of glamour and mystique.

Plastering and Painting To Revive A Home In Manhattan

When this client called us her apartment was in bad shape. After not painting or repairing the plaster in her home for over 40 years everything started to fail. Paint was falling from everywhere. Adding to the situation was water damage from the apartment above. We spent multiple days scraping and carefully disposing off all the failing paint and plaster. We were surprised to discover wallpaper underneath the paint (seen in the 2nd picture below). The client didn’t know there was wallpaper there! We then spent multiple days priming and plastering the entire apartment to return it to it’s former glory. You can see the dramatic transformation, especially in the bathroom picture below. These pictures were taken at the 70% mark of the project. While we always recommend addressing paint issues as they arise, it is never too late to save your home.

After living in their condo for 2 years this client wanted to refresh the place with new colors, patched holes, to make the place feel new again.

The super of the building recently removed the non-working intercom phone leaving a gapping hole in the living room wall. We were able to completely patch and plaster the hole so you can’t even tell it was there in the first place. After caulking around the windows and plastering the other cracks the place was ready for painting. Using fresh rollers and proper technique we repainted their accent wall to show seamless color. The previous paint job showed major flashings which distracted the eye from the tv the wall was situated on. Painting Historic Ornamental Railings in Upper West Side, Manhattan

The Upper West Side of Manhattan is home to beautiful designed buildings with ornate and historic details. When this client contacted us they were looking to revive their historic ornamental second floor railing. It was rusting and in need of rescuing. As experience exterior metal painters in NYC we first covered the ground below and behind the railing. We spent the first day grinding off rust and failing coatings. When grinding historic and beautiful railings it is important not to rush. Each curve of the railing needs to be considered. After grinding we applied the great product Rust Destroyer which eliminates rust while also providing a base coat on the metal. Last step we painted the railing with 2 finish coats of UV resistant industrial coatings. It was quite a joy to see the beautiful finished product. Plastering and Painting In The Upper West Side

Back in May we had the opportunity to help a new homeowner refresh their apartment before moving in. The beautiful historic building in the Upper West Side was starting to show its age. Much of the ceiling plaster was cracking and failing. We carefully scraped all damaged and failing areas of the ceiling. We then primed the surfaces, re plastered and painted the entire apartment. The client chose a great wall color that goes well with the white soffits throughout the apartment.
