The Gentle Sea shade of blue, also a Behr product, in another room carries a bit more calm, but seas connote motion and energy as well. The wall light sconces emit a remarkable splash of luminous ambience. Blue hues promote harmony and confidence, and that’s what we believe will be omnipresent in their new abode.

 The Yorkville neighborhood of Manhattan hugs the East River on the east and rests an easy couple blocks walking to Park Avenue. Gracie Mansion, the official home of the mayor, is in Yorkville, along with Carl Schurz Park and the 92nd Street Y. Papaya King, which opened in 1932, is still serving up grilled hot dogs and tropical drinks. High-rise condo buildings offer classy, contemporary cribs, and we recently painted one of these.

 A coat of paint does wonders for any interior space (or exterior), and savvy property managers and homeowners who rent out their properties know this well. Thus, we waltzed into one of these Upper East Side condos in between tenants to spruce up the walls. The paint choice was Pink Damask OC-72 from Benjamin Moore’s Off-White Color collection. With a bird’s eye view out this Upper East Side apartment, the owner wanted her rental nest to look great before marketing it for new tenants. The ceiling needed some repair, and since you can’t have a tree canopy and the sky above, like the real birds do, then sprucing this up was the next best thing. Ceilings are often only in our peripheral vision, not especially noteworthy, until there’s peeling paint or a little damage or imperfections that capture our eye. Then one might wonder if the ceiling here is not important to keep clean and freshly painted, what else might not be up to snuff?

 So, the Paintworks troop moved in with plaster, paint, ladders, scaffolding, long handles for rollers and all the tools for plastering, priming and painting the tops of the rooms. Ceilings can be challenging up overhead, but we are always up for any challenge that involves, renovation, flooring and more. This lady landlord can now proudly show the space in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, known for Madison Avenue, the Museum Mile and almost everything you need for a satisfying live-work-play experience.

The Upper East Side exudes elegance, and one couple craved a new, more refined style in their living room. With its unique ceiling trim and high shelf, beams, charming bay window and warm wood floors, the space was perfect for Behr's Orion Gray in soft matte. The contrast with white trim generates the chic ambience that a deep charcoal color radiates. They feel a new kind of energy at home now, and as the project unfolded, we experienced it as well. It was a game-changer in this very nice apartment.
