When this client contacted us they just purchased beautiful apartment in the Upper East Side. They were moving back into Manhattan after spending a few years in Nassau County. They were excited to be back in the Big City and looking to create an apartment that matched this excitement. The apartment needed a lot of work. Luckily the owners has an amazing eye for detail and design and was not afraid to go bold. The crowning touch was his choice of black for new crown molding and the ceiling. Talk about interior elegance! Black has always been associated with strength and power with splashes of mystique and rebellion.

The vacant rectangular room had an awesome rustic clay brick floor-to-ceiling wall and fireplace, dull floors, 2 vertical windows and common white walls in need of a good paint job. The ceiling met the wall in undecorated 90-degree angles. Embedding crown molding into this unadorned space instantly enhanced the room. Sanding and refinishing the floors brought luster and sheen back to them. We then skim coated the walls for an even texture and to make it possible to install crown molding. Once the crown molding was installed we moved to painting. We expertly painted both the ceiling and the new crown molding in jet black. Adding gold drapes and a charcoal gray sofa created a uniquely gracious space which evokes a cozy tranquility amidst the dazzling excitement of city life. Painting New High End Luxury Cabinets In Manhattan

One of the most stunning upgrades to a kitchen, without gutting it and spending the same as a new BMW 5-Series, is refinishing the cabinets. It can take mediocre to amazing with Paintworks & Decorating at the helm. This locally-owned, Big Apple-based company arrived at one Upper East Side Manhattan residence wearing their best paint pants with hand tools, power tools, masking tape and sheets of plastic, sandpaper and a sufficient supply of high quality Sherwin-Williams lacquer to get the job done.

This project entailed removing 45 cabinet doors and drawer fronts, which were sprayed off-site in a multiple-step process. The kitchen appliances, floors and countertops were meticulously protected by masking in plastic. Paintworks & Decorating is intimately familiar with everything connected to paint, stain and lacquer, and for this job, sanding, spraying, curing to a hard finish and repeating twice is standard operating procedure.

The lacquer dries to a hard finish which is incredibly smooth for the sophisticated process of diligently and evenly spraying, letting dry, then sanding appropriately, three times, for the sleek exterior [matte or glossy] that elevates the dull kitchen to a delightful, dynamic space -- after, of course, they carted all 45 doors and the drawer fronts back and perfectly re-installed them.

Painting Apartments To Sell in Manhattan, NYC 

When this spacious Upper East Side home was vacated by the previous tenant, the homeowner decided to sell the place instead of renting it out again. Realizing that the place hadn't been painted in over 7 years, the walls looked a little dingy and there was a few cracks in the ceilings. We easily remedied all surface issues and painted the walls with Benjamin Moore's Decorator's White which utilizes the natural light and shows how much space there really is in this apartment. We painted the ceilings with Flat White that keeps each room balanced but provides a little contrast between the walls and ceiling. This is a good example of a staged apartment painted with high vibe colors but is neutral enough to appeal to most buyers.
