Uptown Co-op Wall Repair

A professionally textured wall can lend a gentle kind of rustic style, even in a stairwell or common hallway. In some cases, it camouflages imperfections that a smooth wall cannot, but overall it looks very cool except when the current coat of paint is flaking and falling off, revealing compromised plaster underneath and creating an eyesore for anyone walking the stairs or in the hallway. When a New York City co-op building determines that a stairwell needs some serious attention, many of them call us to evaluate the damage and prescribe the remedy.

Here we had to scrape away old paint and plaster, vacuuming the debris with HEPA-filtered vacuum cleaners for the health and safety of residents and visitors. We applied a sophisticated plaster weld to ensure bonding before adding the decorative plaster in a way to match existing textures. Then our experienced painters fully primed the wall and added two coats of finish paint in Benjamin Moore’s Baby’s Breath white. Creating and painting textured walls is a skill and an art, and we like to think anyone traveling in this stairwell appreciates its fresh, new, polished look.

Upper East Side – New Tenant Rental Painting

UES Local Painters

With a bird’s eye view out this Upper East Side apartment, the owner wanted her rental nest to look great before marketing it for new tenants. The ceiling needed some repair, and since you can’t have a tree canopy and the sky above, like the real birds do, then sprucing this up was the next best thing. Ceilings are often only in our peripheral vision, not especially noteworthy, until there’s peeling paint or a little damage or imperfections that capture our eye. Then one might wonder if the ceiling here is not important to keep clean and freshly painted, what else might not be up to snuff?

So, the Paintworks troop moved in with plaster, paint, ladders, scaffolding, long handles for rollers and all the tools for plastering, priming and painting the tops of the rooms. Ceilings can be challenging up overhead, but we are always up for any challenge that involves, renovation, flooring and more. This lady landlord can now proudly show the space in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, known for Madison Avenue, the Museum Mile and almost everything you need for a satisfying live-work-play experience.

Wood floors, wood trim, tall windows, contemporary staircase, abundant natural daylight and the kind of eclectic vibes omnipresent in the Gramercy Park neighborhood attracted tenants arriving in two days. That’s 48 hours to prep, roll, brush, paint and transform this stunning interior into a more stunning, bright China White home. This Benjamin Moore color presents itself as a pale neutral and is sold as inherently sophisticated and endlessly versatile. It’s part of the Off-White Color Collection and as such delivers a chic strength that endures both time and trend.

The owners were moving to Brooklyn and needed to move fast for having rented it to new residents headed this way. We managed not only the quick turnaround, but also had no problem whatsoever covering these walls which soared 20 feet to the ceiling. We work smart, and these landlords appreciated the fast response along with the high quality workmanship our team produces every time we set foot into a new painting situation in and around all of New York City and northern New Jersey.

West Village Commercial Remodeling Contractor

Less than 25% of Denmark’s 406 islands are inhabited, and residents strive for “hygge”, a uniquely Danish concept of life in which a mood of comfort, coziness and contentment reigns in daily life. The country is officially the Kingdom of Denmark, and Danish ingenuity is emerging in their RAINS [drip, drip, drip] stores. From Berlin, Paris, Shanghai and Antwerp to Vancouver, Amsterdam, Melbourne and New York City, people flock in for exceptional rainwear, backpacks and accessories.

With just four weeks to prepare for its grand opening in Manhattan, the RAINS management team called us at Paintworks for help with remodeling. We got busy tearing down one wall, adjusting doors and installing J Bead to finish the rough ends of drywall corners. The Paintworks team did lots of plastering, smoothing, priming and painting, too, including a brick wall. Painting over brick requires special expertise which for us is all in a day’s work. Our experts crafted a piece of drywall to go neatly over an oddly placed window. The store opened as scheduled at 361 Bleecker Street, and with an average rainfall of 47 inches in the Big Apple, raingear is de rigueur (required).

Manhattan Kitchen Cabinet Update

New homeowners in Manhattan with a keen eye for kitchen design hired us to resurface the kitchen cabinets and add new hardware. They cleverly selected the Sherwin-Williams Anchors Aweigh rich charcoal color for the lower cabinets which contrasts elegantly with Sherwin-Williams Pure White above the counter. Both are semi-gloss for a little sheen that's easy to clean. The white backsplash in a herringbone pattern updates the look, and the eclectic mix of brass and brushed nickel hardware on the cabinets was reinstalled vertically for a more modern visual. We finished up with a big Welcome Home to the happy new owners.
