Manhattan Wall Patching and Drywall Repair 

In 1909, an inventive guy named Isaac Shero patented a hair straightener composed of two flat irons heated and pressed together, likely with formerly curly hair between them. The electric flat iron was patented in 1882. Flat irons, many forged by blacksmiths, have been heated on stoves and pressed fabric and clothes smooth for centuries. The Flatiron Building, bounded by 5th Ave., Broadway and East 22nd St., has flat iron characteristics for its triangle design. It was completed in 1902, added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, and designated a National Historic Landmark in 1989.

The neighborhood anchored by this iconic structure is the Flatiron District, known for trendy everything and the original Shake Shack. Our client here wanted to add paint color before moving in, and asked us to repair a wall where a TV set had been. We cleaned and measured that space, cut drywall to fit, taped it into place and plastered and painted. This wall and all the walls we painted look nice and new for a wonderful welcome to their new nest in the Flatiron District.

Painting Company for New Brooklyn Homeowners 

Moving is exciting, filled with the anticipation of creating a new home nest. And the best time to mend wall, floor and ceiling damage and add your own color scheme is before the first piece of furniture crosses the threshold. One couple who recently purchased a home in a Flatbush Co-op in Brooklyn recognized that and acted on it – calling on us to make it happen. There’s paperwork, repair work and prep work involved, and we are experienced in helping new homeowners navigate the process.

 Their vision included smooth walls in lighter colors with a charming dusty rose upon entering, complemented with a pale neutral living room and rich hunter green in a study space. An odd gold part-wall, dull living room wall and old dark blue in the bedroom did not harmonize one iota with their dream of brighter walls to showcase their interior décor and the handsome wood floors. Covering dark colors can be a challenge, but we know precisely how to smooth and coat dingy, aged walls with premium primers and interior paint. By the time we were finished completely sprucing up this place, we kind of wanted to move in.

Just 2 years after we painted for this nice family, they moved to a beautiful, larger house in the gorgeous town of Scarsdale. The interior has lots of finely-detailed, very dark woodwork which the family wanted to brighten up for a more contemporary feel. We started by carefully covering the floors with strong brown paper to protect them from dust, debris, primer, paint and footprints. Our team sanded all the woodwork before applying 2 coats of primer. The two finish coats of Benjamin Moore’s Aura interior paint on the trim, walls and ceiling created an elegant dining room in which to showcase their style. This client called us days before closing on a home in the historic west village area of Manhattan. We love that he chose to go with a light gray for trim and against the off white walls. It’s a nice contrast that is unique. We were able to get co-op approval extremely fast and paint before he moved in.
