Painting Large Built-in Living Room Cabinets

Rather than remove this built in shelving unit, the new homeowner opted to fix the holes and repaint the whole thing in colors that fit them. They chose a vibrant color that makes the cabinets feel new and unique. Painting everything else with fresh white completed the transformation. 2 coats of Benjamin Moore Cabinet coat with sanding in between the coats allowed the paint to go on smooth and bond properly. Love painting cabinets all over Brooklyn and NYC.

Flatbush-Ditmas Park Condo Painter

Painting this unique 2 level townhouse in Ditmas Park was a fun weekend challenge. The client had just bought this home and was looking to paint the entire place before moving in. As experienced townhouse painters in Brooklyn we were able to paint the entire place in 2 days. There’s a huge built in bookshelf in the living room that the new owner was considering getting rid of because of it looked dingy, dirty, and old. We convinced her to let us paint it first to see if it would bring it back to life and sure enough she loved the new look of the shelf. This client has bold taste as clearly seen by the powerful accent wall in the bedroom. We love painting in the Prospect Park area because the neighborhoods are beautiful and diverse.  Always grateful to do move-in painting. Love making a new homeowner love their new home even more.

Park Slope Home Painter

Painting in Park Slope is such an exciting experience due the gorgeous and well maintained brownstones that fill this area. We love painting brownstones inside and out. This client contacted us to repaint their garden apartment for their long time renters. The most challenging part was to paint the beautiful molding around the windows. Luckily our team has vast experience painting Park Slope homes. We used a satin finish on the trim and moldings to give it contrast against the matte finished walls. When painting Brooklyn townhouses we have to keep in mind of the historic details. The goal is to highlight the molding not to cover it up. In the end the client and our team was happy with the freshly painted interior.

Repainting the Kith Shoe Store in Park Slope

We are very proud to have painted spaces inside of the alluring KITH store in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Kith emphasizes the creative drive of New York City. The fashion boutique provides sneaker heads and fashionistas with the newest and most innovative styles known to date. To be able to contribute to the beauty of such a creative force was an honor.

Our first area to work on was the foyer. Due to ever changing seasons and promotions, the front foyer was looking a little worn. We proceeded to patch all holes in walls and ceilings left by previous window displays. We then painted the walls and ceilings with Benjamin Moore Scuff X. This paint is built to withstand high traffic. We also painted the black cashier station and painted the back hallway behind the checkout station. We used Scuff X again in the back hallway for the high amount of people running in and out of hallway carrying items. The Scuff X paint is resistant to all types of scuffs/run ins and is easily cleanable. This is the only paint ideal for retail and commercial areas. At the end of the day it was a lot of fun to paint such iconic fashion retailer in the beautiful Park Slope area.

Painting Fire Escapes in Brooklyn

Fire escapes are iconic in New York City for their solution to fire safety and for their unique architectural addition to buildings. Because fire escapes are constantly exposed to NYC's rash of outdoor elements eventually paint fails and rust start to build on them. This can lead to hazardous conditions where the metal becomes oxidized and pieces become vulnerable to breaking.  On top of the safety hazards, the oxidation and decomposition of the fire escapes make historic buildings look decrepit and unappealing. To maintain the beauty and safety of our city, Paintworks and Decorating has made it simple to restore and protect fire escapes.

Earlier this month we helped a local Co-op in Park Slope, Brooklyn, restore and paint their fire escapes. We started by grinding off all rust and failing paint. We proceed to prime it with nothing but the best, Benjamin Moore Super Spec Primer. The primer helps protect the metal while also giving the paint something to bond to. Once primed the fire escapes are given a finish coat of Benjamin Moore High Gloss Oil based paint. The paint makes the metal more resistant to water, freezing and continued oxidation. This process adds years to your fire escapes life. The finished product looks clean, new, and vibrant. Whatever issues you may be having with your fire escape we can help.
